The Three Types of Skills Needed in High School:
1. Basic Skills
Many students find homework and study difficult because they have not mastered one or more of the basic learning and language skills needed at high school level. For example, students who do not have strategies which enable them to distinguish between the information they know and the information they don't know, are not able to use their time and energy as effectively as students who do.
2. Advanced Skills
Good students are skilled at using strategies which help them understand complex material fully. In other words, they have the skills to turn information into knowledge.
3. Exam Skills
Students must also be skilled writers so that they can communicate their knowledge and opinions
under exam conditions.
