High-Powered Comprehension Skills
To gain a sophisticated understanding of complex written material, such as reports, journal articles and textbooks, it is necessary to be good at reading deeply- in a sense, this means being able to read between the lines. This level of comprehension is quite different from simply understanding sentences and paragraphs.

Advanced comprehension skills are essentially high-powered information processing techniques which include being able to analyse, categorise, manipulate and assess complex information. Here the depth of your understanding is far more important than your speed.

These skills are not difficult to learn - you can learn them in just a few lessons.

Once you have mastered these information processing techniques, you will be able to use them in other areas of communication - they are particularly useful for writing letters and reports for example, and even for preparing speeches.
